Fasile (Levonorgestrel 0.75 mg)

Description and Indication

Fasile is an Emergency contraceptive pill (ECPs) sometimes simply referred to as emergency contraceptive or the "morning-after pill". Its active ingredient is the synthetic progestogen, Levonorgestrel.

In short, Emergency contraception refers to a particular type of contraception that is used as an emergency procedure to prevent pregnancy following unprotected, possibly fertile intercourse. The average chance of pregnancy after unprotected coitus in the second or third weeks of the menstrual cycle is around 8% and after emergency contraceptives is reduced to 2%.

It is recommended to take the emergency contraceptive within 72 hours of sexual intercourse. The contraceptive action of Fasile will not be effective if taken after 72 hours.

Packaging Presentation

Two tablets of Fasile are packed in a PVC/Aluminium Blister. The blister is packed in a mono-carton along with an information leaflet.

Each uncoated Tablet Contains:
